Scaling the top image

I'd like to be able to not have to pick a fixed scaled size for the top image (currently 700px, with a table 700 + 2*1px border + 5px cellspacing). To do this, I think this approach below will work — but i can't put the CSS content inline into the wiki document data. If i can find out where the mediawiki CSS is for images, perhaps i can put it there and do something original?

{| border=0 cellpadding="5px" cellspacing="0"

| colspan="3" style="margin: 1em 1em 1em 0; border: 1px #6688AA solid; border-collapse: collapse; padding:0" |

<!-- see http://rjohara.net/server/css-figures-captions/ -->
<style type="text/css">
.full { width: 90%; padding: 10px; margin: 0.67em auto; }
/* "full" should be unnecessary, but this responds to the box model bugs in IE */
.half { width: 50%; padding: 10px; margin: 0.5em 0.67em; }
.third { width: 33%; padding: 10px; margin: 0.5em 0.67em; }
.quarter { width: 25%; border: none; padding: 5px; margin: 0.25em 0.5em; }
.fifth { width: 20%; border: none; padding: 5px; margin: 0.25em 1%; }
.right { float: right; margin-left: 2%; }
.left { float: left; margin-right: 2%; }
</style>
<img class="fifth right" style="max-width: 600px; max-height: 326px; min-width: 3em;" src="Image:Hurricane idge top.jpg" border="1" alt="[Image: Hurricane Ridge photo]" />

Actually: That's not such a good idea. If the user changed the browser window size, the whole damn thing would be re-sizing the table as it resized the window – CPU intensive and distracting!

I need to just pick a size, rescale, and replace the Image with this fixed size. 700? 800? other? Erb 08:20, 24 May 2006 (PST)
